Are you one of the unlucky ones to have experienced plantar fasciitis recently?
I’m here today to talk about how walking in bare feet can stir up plantar fasciitis. This is pain that is commonly felt in the heel or in inner side of your foot through the arch.
If you have had treatment recently, you likely would have been advised to wear supportive shoes while walking around from the moment your feet hit the ground in the morning until you go to bed in the evening. This allows the plantar fascia to be offloaded and supported which aids in recovery.
With many people working from home currently, it is important that you are mindful of your footwear. If you have had plantarfasciitis recently, it is still advised to keep wearing those supportive shoes so that you don’t aggravate past injuries.
A simple solution is wearing some supportive thongs (or jandals for those kiwis out there), which are available to purchase from our Miami practice. This allows you to be comfortable while at home but also means you are less likely to flare up any past foot issues.
