We’re excited to welcome Emily and Angela to Miami Physiotherapy! You may have met them already if you’ve visited us recently, but here they are to introduce themselves.
Emily
Emily graduated from Curtin University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy).
She volunteered and had placements in with multiple aged care and neurological rehabilitation facilities during her studies, which has honed her skills in musculoskeletal conditions, neurological rehabilitation, and vestibular conditions.
In addition to that, she undertook a 5-week placement at Fiona Stanley Hospital in the Maternity and outpatient women’s health clinic which has sparked an interest in Gender Health. Hailing from Malaysia, Emily has spent the last 5 years in Australia and enjoys the sunny weather and wildlife here. In her spare time, she enjoys horse riding and long walks on the beach/ foreshore.
Angela
Angela graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2020 from Curtin University. She has had experience in musculoskeletal, paediatrics, cardiopulmonary, post brain injury rehab, and aged care from previous clinical placements. She has also had previous internship with a therapy-based school for children with both neurological and musculoskeletal conditions such as cerebral palsy, idiopathic toe walking, and developmental delays.
Angela has always been familiar with physiotherapy as a child as she had multiple occasions where she had needed physiotherapy, which is what led to her special interest in paediatrics and sports related injuries. Angela also enjoys going around town to find the best restaurants and is currently on a hunt to find the best waterfalls in Western Australia.
