Hi everyone! Do you need some more ideas for how to keep your kids active whilst kids are on school holidays or home schooling?
I am Shelley from Miami Physiotherapy and Lakelands Physiotherapy.
Today I am going to show you a series of simple strength and balance exercises to keep your kids entertained and moving.
Strength exercises are so important building your kid’s muscles and bones. While balance and coordination exercises improve their fine motor performance – things like writing and typing, which will help them do better at school.
These benefits are on top of the usual improvements in concentration, learning and health that are seen when performing other types of exercises.
So here is a series of simple strength and balance exercises your kids can follow at home.
1. Squats
2. Wheel barrow / Pushups
3. Crab Walking
4. Punching overhead
5. Bridging
6. Spiderman Crawling
7. Tug of War
8. “Twister”
9. Throw/Catch Ball
10. “Tightrope” walking
Then repeat the whole program 1-2 more times.
And that completes the strength and balance program for today. As you can see there is a lot you can do with minimal equipment and space. So hopefully this has given you a few more ideas of ways you can keep your kids active.
